CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a method that encourages your natural healing systems to assist your body in self-correction through enhancing the functions on the CranioSacral System. The practitioners use very light touches to detect the possible imbalances and then with delicate techniques they release the stress placed on the brain and spinal cord.

After first witnessing the CranioSacral System and its movement and effects in 1790, osteopathic physician John Upledger theorized that a hydraulic system existed within the cranium, through the spine to the sacrum. In 1975, he lead a team of medical experts in Michigan State University. They tested and documented the therapeutic influence of the CranioSacral System. A decade later, Dr. Upledger founded the Upledger Institute to promote CranioSacral Therapy. Today, there are more than 80,000 CranioSacral therapists worldwide.
